Another Submarine Cable Failure Slowed Down The Internet

Another submarine cable failure slowed down the internet

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) said the cable was cut on the TWI submarine cable because it affected internet speed.

A PTA spokesman said the TransWorld submarine cable system was reported to have been cut off at around 6pm on Monday, about 400 km off the coast of Pakistan.

A PTA spokesman said the error had disrupted international bandwidth and could result in disruption of internet services for Transworld users. According to Sözcü, the consortium is setting up Adhoc bandwidth from SMW5 to minimize impacts. Work is underway to determine the exact location of the fault and the expected repair time.
