A little “recent history lesson” at first. In 2018, PTA launched DIRBS (Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System) to reduce all risks associated with the illegal use of mobile devices in the country. To do this, the PTA began to block unregistered devices. However, if you have a mobile device that does not meet the PTA requirements and want to pay the mobile registration tax from the comfort of your home, read the instructions below and learn how to do it.
How to Pay Mobile Registration Tax?
You should check the condition of the device with a PTA before paying the tax. How is it done? Send your IMEI number to 8484 and find out the status of your device. If your device is PTA compliant, you do not have to pay taxes for it.

- After opening the link, click on Register.
On the next screen, you will see an important message for people to pay attention to. Read all the instructions given in the message carefully.
Immediately after the massage, you will see two mandatory fields called “target” and “user type”. When you click on a target, you will see two options, “personal” and “commercial”.
After selecting the “Personal” option, you must also select the user type.
Again, you will be presented with two options: “Pakistani” (local, international traveler, dual citizen) and “Foreigner”. Click on the option of your choice.
After that, you need to fill out the form and provide all the information such as full name, email address, phone number.
After entering the information, click “Submit”.
A confirmation will be sent to your email address by the PTA.
After confirming your account, you will need to enter your email address and password to log in.
When you log in to your account, you will see an individual COC option on the left side of your screen. Click on it.
Apply for COC now.
Click on it and you will see a different option on your screen.
Select the option that indicates that you are a local or international traveler or that you have picked up your mobile phone through a courier service.
We assume that you have chosen the local option. In this case, simply select your network operator and enter your contact number.
Next, select the number of slots on your device.
After selecting the mobile slots, you need to enter the IMEI of your device. If you have more than one slot, you must write the IMEI of all of them.
Note: You can check the IMEI of your device by dialing *#06#.
When you have finished entering the IMEI, click the “send” button.
After checking the details, the system will automatically generate a Payment Receipt (PSID) code along with taxes and fees.
Once you have done this, you can use the PSID code to pay the tax through online banking, mobile wallets, ATMs or branches of all major banks such as the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Allied Bank Limited. (ABL) and so on.
Note: Payment Receipt ID (PSID) is only valid for seven days. After that, the PSID code will expire and you will have to apply for mobile registration again.
