In early December, we saw the debut of Xiaomi 12 in China, and now the company is ready to present the series internationally. Recent reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 12 series will be launched globally on March 15 with a special launch event.
It should be noted that this news has nothing to do with the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which Xiaomi continues to be surprisingly off the radar.
The presentation of the Xiaomi 12 series on March 15 will be through an online event aimed at Europe and possibly India as the first global destinations for the smartphone suite. However, it is unclear whether the three models, the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X, will also be available as part of the global release.
Speculation suggests that the more compact Xiaomi 12 mini will also be available for global launch on March 15. Although there are rumors about some other possible models that will take part in the start, the current estimates should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The camera design of the Xiaomi 12 series will be the main selling point for the global release. Thanks to the impressive camera design, the theme for March 15 will be in line with the motto “Dominate every scene”.
All three models have the same camera structure controlled by a 50MP main lens, but the Pro has a larger sensor than the other two, supported by a telephoto and ultra-wide sensor of 1 / 1.56 ”or 1 / 2.8”. The Pro comes with a triple 50 MP camera block on the back panel with 2x optical magnification and a 115 MP ultra wide 50 MP telephoto supported by a 13 MP ultra wide and 5 MP tele macro sensor.
Under the hood, the trio includes Qualcomm Snapdragon chips equipped with Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and 12X Snapdragon 870 chipset. According to previous rumors, we expect the Xiaomi 12 Pro to start at around $ 1,200, while the 12X will sell for around $ 670. The vanilla Xiaomi 12 is also expected to cost around $ 1,000.
These estimates remain speculative, as there is no official announcement from the company about the prices of these smartphones.
