It seems that WhatsApp, Meta’s instant messaging platform, will launch another feature with the upcoming update. WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new privacy shortcut for Android smartphones, which will allow users to edit contact lists so they can see status updates.
According to WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp shortcut will allow users to personalize their status privacy settings. It is also said that this new shortcut will work in conjunction with the upcoming subtitle panel, which is currently in progress.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot showing how this new update will work.
WABetaInfo suggests that this upcoming feature will be added as a shortcut at the bottom of the screen and will allow users to access it when they click on Status. This shortcut allows you to select the WhatsApp contacts you want to show status updates.
With the current version, users have to go specifically to the status settings to limit the audience that can see the status updates, which makes it a bit more difficult. WhatsApp has not yet released details of the shortcut, but it is expected to be available soon. However, the feature is not yet available for beta testers as it is still under development.
